1964 F-500!!!I don't have this anymore, but it's still a cool truck so it stays. Well, there was no way I could go without an old car for too long, so I picked this baby up. It's a 1964 Ford F-500 with Big Block Ford V8, and GMC School bus front and rear axles. The engine is a 429 Thunder-jet out of a 1970 Torino with a Carter AFB on top the stock 4 BBL manifold. A Carter industrial 5 speed with granny low takes care of shifting duties, and the 2 speed rear end is shifted with a motor driven Eaton shifter. Runs and drives good, but the synchros are out for 3rd, 4th, and 5th gears. 8.25x20 tires on 2-piece rims all the way around, no retreads. The bed is a custom job. So far I have added a nice little K&N air filter with an aluminum top that I had laying in the garage. Future plans include, an electric air compressor and air tank, removing the fender mounted turn signals, installing a C6 tranny beefed up for towing. I also need a new speedometer cable, new fuel tank sender, tailgate for the bed, a new headliner, and a new floor mat. There is virtually zero rust in the entire truck. Apparently it was a maintenance truck for the city of Los Angeles for it's first 20 years. I'd also like to install roller rockers, a new oil pan, and some aluminum valve covers.
