You could pay $20 or $30 each for machine levelers, or you could do this... $4.96 after tax. Adjust the sizes to suit your needs. Washers usually have a concave, and convex side, make sure the convex sides are facing each other on the pair of washers that are touching. This helps them slip against each other while adjusting. Make sure everything is completely burr free. Lube everything up with some silicone grease, or whatever is handy. It is much easier to make precise adjustments if everything is lubed up.
